This coverage protects the agency’s legal liability on either an occurrence or claims-made basis with no deductible in most standard situations.
Claims-Made Coverage — Protects against incidents that arise from care provided after either the policy’s retroactive date or effective date, as long as the claim is reported when the policy is in force or during the extended reporting period.
Occurrence Coverage — Protects against incidents that occur while the policy is in force, regardless of when the claim is reported.
There is no time limit on when a claim can be reported and the carrier is permanently responsible for past losses in the policy period.
